The job of a firefighter is one of the most dangerous professions around. Firefighting is a calling, it isn't just a job. Firefighters are a special breed of men and women going into a hostile atmostphere while others are running out. This career is attractive not primarily because of the salary or benefits. It is because there isn't a day that goes by that firefighters don't make a difference in someone's life by helping them in probably the most traumatic time of their life. The love amongst one another in the fire service is a Brotherhood.

Sometimes it looks awkward in the eyes of the public when firefighters are seen standing around or in the firehouse between runs (calls). But when the tone alarm goes off and the companies turn out to respond, firefighters never know the destiny of their fate. When you see them at a fire, in the supermarket, on the street or you are passing your neighborhood firehouse take a brief moment to wish them well and to say thank you.

In this gallery you will find the faces of the F.D.N.Y. Brotherhood that served and that are currently active in the F.D.N.Y.

I would also like to share many photos of close friends that I lost on September 11th. I miss them all greatly and they will never, ever be forgotten.
