This gallery takes us back to when the F.D.N.Y. caught record amounts of fire duty. From the interchange program, companies with 2nd sections, no masks (and if there were, and if you had one, they were extremely bulky), rubber turnout coats, pull-up boots--or no boots..You'll see all of these in the following photos courtesy of retired Deputy Director of Fire Communications for the F.D.N.Y.
