Fire Companies in the 51 Battalion were assigned to respond to a phone alarm for Box 2146 located at 109 Avenue and 95 Street in the Ozone Park section of the Borough. Enroute to the box, numerous reports of civilians trapped were announced by Queens Fire Alarm Dispatchers. On arrival, units were encountered with a heavy fire condition in a two and a half story frame private dwelling with a similar attached exposure. A second alarm was transmitted for minor extension into the exposure.
