Queens 75-8513; March 20, 2006 Galleries

Queens 75-8513 (03/20/06) : Shortly before midnight on March 20, 2006, Queens box 8513 was transmitted for smoke in the area in the vicinity of Jamaica Avenue and 75 Street. Engines 293, 236, 294, Ladders 143, 142 and Battalion 39 were assigned. On arrival of Battalion 39, there was a strong odor of smoke and a 10-75 was given however the fire building could not be located. On the 10-75, Squad 270, Rescue 4, Engine 285 (4th due engine), Ladder 175 (FAST Truck) and the 51 Battalion (10-75 chief) were assigned. 

A search commenced immediately and the building was found. The address of the fire building was 75-14 Jamaica Avenue. The fire building was a 3 story commercial occupancy that had undergone major alterations. The fire was kept at an All-Hands.
